Race for the Galaxy is one of the greatest games ever, and I will not accept any arguments. Sure, it's not for everyone, but that can change!

Race for the Galaxy came about initially from the development of a card game version of Puerto Rico. While the official version was released as San Juan, game designer Tom Lehmann kept developing his vision for another three years and came up with the more complex Race for the Galaxy, which remains a Top 100 title on BGG to this day (though only just barely).

Since then, Lehmann has also designed six expansions for Race in three story arcs, a dice version of Race - Roll for the Galaxy with its own two expansions, a board game version of Race - New Frontiers with its own expansion, and even a quicker tableau-building game - Jump Drive, a retheme of his earlier game The City - with its own expansion. That's four games and twelve expansions, with at least two extra modes included, not including San Juan or Puerto Rico (or the Glory to Rome family of games that were inspired by Race, for that matter).

Race is known as having a high barrier of entry for learning, but I would like to help you out with that. I'm looking to form a "Survey Team" of players who are willing to dive into the Race for the Galaxy universe at Chewsday Challenge over the next few months. It would be a once a month commitment, but we would play several games in a session and work our way through the various iterations of the Race for the Galaxy universe.

I own all four games, all of the expansions, and a second copy of Race, so we could accommodate up to ten players in our Survey Team. We'll use this thread to organize initially and then move forward from there starting in May. So who's in to Race, Roll, and Jump for the Galaxy?

I like San Juan and Puerto Rico (although the theme is problematic) and have never played any of the Race for the Galaxy games (that I can recall) so I am in to learn and play through them.

I'd be interested, but my Tuesday schedule is not as flexible as it once was so you might have to go ahead without me.
