Thunder Road: Vendetta is a chaotic high octane car combat board game. Race through the desert, avoid hazards, smash into your opponents, and try to make it to the finish line first!


The Game
Thunder Road: Vendetta is a vehicle combat racing game that draws inspiration of Death Race, Twisted Metal, and Mad Max. The goal of the game is to be the first person to cross the finish line of the race, OR be the last one standing.

League Time Frame & Schedule
Races will take place weekly at Chewsday Challenge. Every racer will be required to sign up for 3 races before elimination run begins. It is the racers responsibility to sign up for the races and do their best to try race with the biggest diversity of opponents.

NEW: Two games will be posted per tuesday night. One for 6:30pm and one for 8:30pm. Its very likely the 8:30 game could start at 8 as most games run 90 min

All previous season racers have a locked in spot if they need it. The rest is on a first come first serve basis. Please confirm and comment on this thread if you are interested! The season has begun and registration has closed!

League Structure & Rules

What are the League Rules in Play?
The official rules published with Thunder Road Vendetta are the official rules used by the league with exception of the scoring house rules.

Scoring
Roll less than ten = 1 Point
Repair your inoperable car = 1 point
Deal a damage token to an opponent (Your turn) = 2 Points
Self eliminate your car (Your turn) = 3 points
Eliminate an opponent car (Your turn) = 4 points
Cause game end trigger (Your turn) = 6 points
Win the race = 10 points

How to play Thunder Road Vendetta

Premise
Score as many points during your race to avoid league elimination! The game end triggers when one player is fully eliminated. The finish line tile comes out and gets added to the end of the track. As soon as a car hits the finish line, the game ends immediately.


Game Flow / Rounds
Everyone will roll their 4 dice. The start player is whoever rolled the lowest total.

During the round you will take turns clockwise around the table.

On your turn:

1. Assign a die to a car that has not moved yet.

2. (Optional) Assign a die to a action space on your dashboard. If deploying chopper, resolve it full before moving to step 3.

3. Move the car the number of the die, plus any modifiers.
>>>> Resolve hazard tiles as they are run over.
>>>> Resolve any slams until no more exist
>>>> Resolve any damage tokens

4. Shoot in your front arc of the car.
>>>> Resolve any damage tokens
>>>> Resolve any slams until no more exist

Once every car as moved once, and your 4th die is used on your action dashboard, first player rotates clockwise and game continues. If you have a extra die due to a car being inoperable, you may use it to coast an already moved vehicle one singular space and shoot.

A player is fully eliminated from the game if all their cars are inoperable or eliminated on THEIR TURN.


Eliminated or Inoperable

A car is eliminated if:
Drives off either edge
It hites a impassable terrain tile
It ends its movement under any chopper.

A car is inoperable if:
It has two damage tokens on it.

Inoperable cars cannot take more damage, but they can be slammed around still.


League Points & Prizes
After everyone has done 3 races, the bottom 8 will be eliminated.

After remaining racers (1-16) have done 4 races, the bottom 8 will be eliminated

The top 8 will then face off.


League Point Structure

A table marshall will be assigned in each race. It is their duty to enforce official game rules, and monitor point scoring.

IMPORTANT: Points are awarded to the player that caused the resulting scoring opportunity. For example, It's Tommy's turn, If Tommy shoots Dan, and Dan's damage token makes him slam into Paul and Paul goes under Blake's chopper, its Tommy's points because he caused all the mayhem on his move.

Once points are calculated, they will be entered HERE into the score spreadsheet where they can be tracked and posted on the forum.

Race Schedule

Click on the link to the associated Chewsday Challenge to sign up for a race. Scheduling is to be done by all racers on their own schedule. Sign up preference is as follows:

Racers with fewest overall races (first to post, first to get a spot)
Racers with higher race counts
Substitues / Guests

A waitlist will be implemented on each race to indicate who is next up for a spot. The players will be locked in by the sunday before the race. Please post on the CC forum as soon as you know you can't make it so we can fill. A race marshall will also eventually be indicated who will be in charge of calling the shots. This title is given to whoever has most experience with rules.
